Indian soft tennis player Jay Meena scripted history at the Asian Games by winning the bronze medal in the men’s individual event, becoming the country’s first-ever Asian Games medallist in soft tennis.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Meena on this achievement and stated that her performance has marked the beginning of a new chapter for soft tennis in India. He also expressed hope that this medal would inspire more young people to take up the sport and excel at the international level.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister’s Office stated that Meena’s achievement is a “historic milestone for Indian soft tennis” and expressed hope that this medal would inspire many more young people to take up the sport. The Prime Minister also extended his best wishes to Meena for her future sporting journey.
